Nothbound Lanes Closed after Fatal Crash on 405 in Hawthorne
Hawthorne, CA (1/7/2020) – Adam Herrera, 35, died in a crash on northbound 405 Tuesday night.
The collision occurred around 9:40 pm near the exit to Rosecrans Avenue.
Northbound lanes closed starting at the Inglewood Avenue on-ramp. All lanes reopened around 1:30 am on Wednesday.
Mr. Herrera was traveling in a 2009 Honda at an unknown speed when he lost control of his vehicle and spun out. The car came to rest facing the wrong way in the carpool lane with the lights off.
Two unidentified people in a 2007 Infiniti drove north in the carpool lane and collided with Herrera’s car.
Mr. Herrera died in the collision. The people in the Infiniti suffered minor injuries.
Police do not suspect the use of drugs or alcohol as causes for the crash. Witnesses are asked to call the West Los Angeles CHP office at 310-642-3939.
