1 Injured in Single-Vehicle Crash in Escondido; DUI Suspected Factor
A single-vehicle crash left one man seriously injured early Saturday, June 29. Emigdio Quiroz, 20, was traveling at excessive speed along Bear Valley Parkway when he lost control of his car, a 2003 BMW convertible.
Quiroz was ejected from his vehicle as it rolled, eventually coming to a rest upside down, police said. Quiroz was not wearing a seatbelt and reportedly suffered serious head injuries as a result of the crash. He was transported to the hospital in serious condition.
According to authorities, Quiroz was displaying symptoms of alcohol impairment when paramedics arrived at the scene. He will likely face DUI charges pending toxicology results, the police said.
